Each Capsule contains 200mg of Standardized Ellagic Acid.
Ellagic acid is a compound found in berries. Research in animal and laboratory models has found that ellagic acid inhibits the growth of tumours caused by certain carcinogens. A number of double blind studies of humans are underway to determine the effect of long-term daily consumption of concentrated raspberry extract on cancer cell activity in the human colon, prostate, and breast.
A new publication called the "American Cancer Society's Guide to Complementary and Alternative Cancer Methods" has documented that Ellagic Acid is a very promising natural supplement, because it causes apoptosis (cell death) of cancer cells in the lab tests, with no change to normal healthy cells.
How does Ellagic Acid work?
Healthy cells have a normal life cycle of approximately 120 days before they die. This process is called apoptosis (natural cell death). The body replaces these dying cells with healthy cells. Conversely, cancer cells do not die. They multiply by division, making 2 cancer cells, then 4, 8, 16, 32 and so on. In lab tests, Ellagic Acid caused the cancer cells to go through the normal apoptosis process without damaging healthy cells. Chemotherapy, radiation, and most conventional treatments cause the death of cancer cells and healthy cells indiscriminately while destroying the immune system in the process. Ellagic Acid is clearly the sensible choice.
Recent Research Summary
Clinical tests conducted at the Hollings Cancer Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) show that ellagic acid, a naturally occurring plant phenol with highest concentrations in berries may be the most potent way to prevent cancer, inhibit the growth of cancer cells, and arrest the growth of cancer in persons with a genetic predisposition for the disease.
Dr. Daniel Nixon, MUSC, began studying the ellagic acid in berries in 1993. His recently published results show:
Cervical Cancer Cells - HPV (human papilloma virus) exposed to ellagic acid from red raspberries experienced apoptosis (normal cell death). Ellagic acid leads to G1 arrest of cancer cells, thus inhibiting and stopping mitosis (cancer cell division). Ellagic acid from red raspberries prevents destruction of the P53 gene by cancer cells. P53 is regarded as the safeguard of mutagenic activity in cervical cells. Tests reveal similar results for breast, pancreas, esophageal, skin, colon, and prostate cancer cells. Consuming one cup (150 grams) of red raspberries per day prevents the development of cancer cells.
Additional studies suggest that one of the mechanisms by which ellagic acid inhibits mutagenesis and carcinogenesis is by forming adducts with DNA, thus masking binding sites to be occupied by the mutagen or carcinogen.

Ellagic Acid is a Powerful Anti-Cancer Supplement -Roger Mason
For centuries black walnut hulls have been used as a standard herbal remedy. They contain a compound called "ellagic acid". No one took much interest in ellagic acid itself until about 10 years ago. Now people the world over have discovered the powerful anti-cancer potential and other benefits of this natural substance. Finally it is being studied in clinics and hospitals. Ellagic acid is also found in a few other plants other than black (and English) walnut hulls.
To see 120 published medical references on the various effects and potential of ellagic acid please go to www.red-raspberry.org. Don't buy the red raspberry extracts however.
This, of course, is being promoted as a Magic Supplement at high prices with very low amounts of actual ellagitannins. If you want to prevent or cure cancer or any serious illness you must change your diet and lifestyle. Eat healthier foods, take proven supplements, use natural hormones, fast weekly, exercise, avoid prescription drugs and stop any bad habits. There are no easy ways to cure any disease.
Where can you buy a strong ellagic acid supplement at a fair price? Look on the Internet and you'll basically find very weak and very expensive ones from raspberry seeds. Raspberry seeds vary greatly in ellagic acid content and generally contain a mere 1 mg per four ounces of dried seeds. (Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry v. 5, 2002, p. 3495-500.) For a bottle of 60 X 100 mg capsules (6,000 mg) you would need to extract about 1,600 pounds of seeds! That is over a ton of seeds to make one bottle? Fortunately there are better sources.
Since the raspberry extracts of ellagic acid did not clearly state the actual amounts of the label another source was sought. effective It turns out the Indian Terminalia chebula plant is an abundant and inexpensive source. This is a common Indian herb known for many centuries. Now you can buy full 100 mg capsules, 60 per bottle for less than $20 from us. No one else on earth has a product nearly this strong at any price. One common Internet brand, for example, uses 1% raspberry seed extract in 500 mg capsules. Each capsule only has 5 mg and a bottle is $65. This is typical of what you will find. You would have to take 20 of these capsules to get 100 mg. Ours is TWENTY times stronger.
Many of these companies merely state how much extract is in each capsule, but refuse to say what per cent actual ellagic acid it contains. This is completely meaningless. You can usually count on a mere 1% actual ellagic acid in any raspberry seed product. Always read the labels carefully.
Very impressive studies were done at major clinics and universities around the world. The results were published in such journals as Carcinogenesis, Cancer Letters, Japanese Journal of Cancer Research, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, Nutrition and Cancer, International Journal of Oncology and many others. So far, most the work has been done on lab animals rather than humans, but these results will certainly apply equally to people when human clinical trials are run. Please understand that it isn't easy to just take a group of people with various types of cancer and give them a supplement to see if they get better. Traditionally animal studies are done for years before humans are used. Black walnut hulls have been used successfully for centuries for many ailments. The real world human evidence is already in regarding the effectiveness and safety.. Please remember this is "exogenous" and does not exist in our daily food. Therefore it will only have value for about six months. Do not take exogenous supplements for longer than six months as they will simply have no value after that. This includes such supplements as aloe vera, curcumin, green tea, golden seal, ginseng, and milk thistle.
This is a well researched effective, safe and inexpensive exogenous supplement to use temporarily.
